Generate an AST agreement
Use havelo's contract generator to draft an Assured Shorthold Tenancy.

Steps
- Go to
/dashboard/contracts. - Click "Generate agreement".
- Pick the property and tenant (the form auto-prefills).
- Set the start date, term length, monthly rent, and deposit.
- Click "Generate".
The agreement renders as a printable HTML page. Download as PDF (browser print > save as PDF) and circulate.
What it covers
A standard AST under the Housing Act 1988. Includes the prescribed information for deposit protection, the standard repair clauses, and a break clause.
What it doesn't cover
- Bespoke clauses (pets, garden maintenance, parking restrictions). Add these manually before circulating.
- Welsh-specific Renting Homes Act variations.
- Scottish and Northern Irish tenancies (use a local solicitor).
Important
A solicitor-drafted AST is always safer for unusual situations (HMOs with bills inclusive, company lets, lodger arrangements). Use the generator for vanilla single-let situations.
